Banana & Oat Breakfast Smoothie

The banana, oats and almond milk make it super thick and creamy, while the berries give a great colour and a sweet, fruity flavour. The spinach offers a healthy dose of revitalising greens.

1 Banana

1 Big Handful of Spinach

2 Handfuls of  Frozen Berries

1/3 Cup of Almond Milk

3 tbsp. Oats

1 tbsp. Hemp Powder

1 tbsp. Chia Seeds

Method

Peel the banana, then pour everything into your blender and blend until smooth.

 

Citrus & Ginger Flu-Fighter Smoothie

Anti-oxidant-packed citrus fruit and fresh ginger unite against cold and flu. Add a small amount of cayenne pepper to clear your breathing and boost your metabolism.

2 Medium Seedless Navel Oranges, Peeled

2 tbsp. of Fresh Lemon Juice

1 tsp. Grated Fresh Ginger

1-3 tsp. Pure Maple Syrup

3-5 Ice Cubes

Pinch of Cayenne Pepper

Method

Combine all of the ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth.

 

Strawberry Smoothie

This strawberry smoothie is packed full of nutrients. You can even grow them all at home.

2 Large Handfuls of Strawberries, Hulled

1 Small Handful of Mint

2 Sprigs Basil

1 Banana

1 tsp. Honey

Splash of Water or Apple Juice

Method

Put all the ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth. Serve.

 

Detoxifying Green Smoothie

A quick way to get a healthy dose of raw veg before lunch. Packing in two types of vegetables and sweetened with pineapple and kiwi.

50g of Pineapple

1 Peeled Kiwi

300ml of Coconut Water

1/2 an Avocado

1 Handful of Spinach

1/2 tsp. of Coconut Oil

Method

Place everything in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve.

 

Banana, Raspberry & Yoghurt Smoothie

Made wih frozen fruits and honey, this fruity breakfast smoothie is a great way to kick off your day.

2 Ripe Bananas

200g of Frozen Raspberries

150ml of Plain Yoghurt

200ml semi-skimmed or soya milk

Honey, to Taste

Method

Break up the banana and place in blender. Add the frozen fruit, yoghurt and milk and blend until smooth. Add a little honey to taste. Serve.

 

Carrot, Orange & Apple Booster Smoothie

Packed with vitamins and essential minerals, this recipe is perfect for revitalising and restoring balance to the body.

250g of Fresh Carrot Juice

250ml of Orange Juice

1 Green Apple, Peeled, Cored and Chopped

2 tbsp Freshly Grated Ginger

1 tbsp Honey

Handful of Ice Cubes

Method

Blitz all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve.

 

Blueberry & Raspberry Smoothie

Tastes great and looks great whilst packing a powerful antioxidant punch. Frozen blueberries, purple grape juice, banana and yoghurt combine to make a drink that has it all.

170g of Frozen Blueberries

175g of Purple Grape Juice

A Handful of Sunflower Seeds

1 Banana

120ml of Raspberry Yoghurt

Method

Blend all the ingredients together thoroughly and pour into a tall glass.

 

Mango & Passion Fruit Smoothie

A tropical and nutritious way to start the day - full of vitamin C and low in fat.

400g of Peeled and Chopped Ripe Mango

250g of Fat Free Mango Yoghurt

250ml of Skimmed Milk or Soya Milk

Juice of 1 Lime

4 Passion Fruits, Halved

Method

Whizz the mango, yoghurt and milk together in a blender until smooth. Stir in the lime juice, then pour into 4 glasses. Scoop the pulp of a passion fruit into each one and swirl before serving.

 

Super Berry Smoothie

Frozen berries are a thrifty way of creating a healthy smoothie - pad it out with oats to make it extra filling.

450g of Frozen Strawberries

450g of Fat Free Strawberry Yoghurt

100ml of Skimmed Milk or Soya Milk

25g of Porridge Oats

2 tsp. Honey

Method

Whizz the berries, yoghurt and milk together in a blender until smooth. Stir through the porridge oats, then pour into 4 glasses and serve with a drizzle of honey.

 

Cherry Soya Smoothie

A dairy-free vegan smoothie with fruit juice, tofu and oats to power you up at breakfast or provide sustenance for exercise.

100ml Cherry Juice

200ml Unsweetened Soya Milk

1 Cherry Soya Yoghurt

3 tbsp. or 50g Firm Silken Tofu

75g of Frozen Cherries

2 tbsp Porridge Oats

Method

Put all ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth. Serve in a tall glass.

 

Vitamin Booster Smoothie

Up your vitamin quota with help from this bright and fresh smoothie. Orange, carrot, celery and mango pack a nutritious punch.

1 Orange, Peeled and Roughly Chopped

1 Large Carrot, Peeled and Roughly Chopped

2 Sticks Celery, Roughly Chopped

50g of Mango, Roughly Chopped

200ml of Water

Method

Put all the orange, carrot, celery and mango in the blender, top up with water, then blitz until smooth.

1. Puree the fruit in blender.

2. Freeze in ice trays ready to blend up with a banana, p,ain yoghurt and milk and honey to taste.

 

Peach Melba Smoothie

Blend peaches, raspberries, oirange juice and fresh custard into a fruity, creamy smoothie that's low in fat.

400g of Peaches, Stoned

100g of Frozen Raspberries

100ml of Orange Juice

100ml of Fresh Custard

Method

Place the peaches and raspberries in a blender with orange juice and fresh custard and whizz together. Pour over ice and serve.

 

Bone Builder Smoothie

This healthy smoothie gets its vibrant green colour from avocado, cucumber, spinach and kale. Blitz with pineapple and coconut water.

1/2 an Avocado, Peeled, Stoned and Roughly Chopped

A Generous Handful of Spinach

A Generous handful of Kale, Washed Well

50g of Pineapple Chunks

10cm Piece of Cucumber, Roughly Chopped

300ml of Coconut Water

Method

Put the avocado, spinach, kale, pineapple and cucumber in the blender, top up with coconut water, then blitz until smooth.

 

Heart Helper Smoothie

Blend beetroot, apple, blueberries and ginger to create a smooth and nutritious drink with depth and zing.

2 Small Raw Beetroots, Peeled and Roughly Chopped

1 Small Apple, Peeled, Quartered and Cored

50g of Bluberries

1 tbsp. of Grated Ginger

300ml of Water

Method

Put the beetroot, apple, blueberries and ginger in the blender, top up with water then blitz until smooth.

 

Minty Pineapple Smoothie

There's more to smoothies than fruit - this green blend contains spinach, oats, linseeds and cashew nuts too.

200g of Pineapple, Peeled, Cored and Cut into Chunks

A Few Mint Leaves

50g of Baby Spinach Leaves

25g of Oats

2 tbsp. Linseeds

A Handful of Unsalted, Unroasted Cashew Nuts

Fresh Lime Juice to Taste

Method

Put all the ingredients in a blender with 200ml of water and process until smooth. If it's too thick, add more water until you get the correct mix.

 

Creamy Mango & Coconut Smoothie

This tropical smoothie with creamy coconut yoghurt, mango and passion fruit is dairy and soya free.

200ml of Coconut Milk

4 tbsp. of Coconut Milk Yoghurt

1 Banana

1 tbsp. Ground Flaxseed, Sunflower and Pumpkin Seed.

120g Frozen Mango Chunks

1 Passion Fruit

Method

Put all the ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth. Cut the passion fruit in half and scrape the seeds on top.
